A team of 15 Ames Tile & Stone employees, clients and vendors participated in an eight hour build day at the current Habitat for Humanity build site in Burnaby, BC.

On March 20, 2008, the team gathered for the Habitat for Humanity Build Day. After our safety briefing we were quickly put to work; nailing up and painting siding, building a retaining wall and installing simple solar pathway lighting. Each member involved in this project made a bridging effort to break the cycle of poverty.

Habitat for Humanity Canada is a non-profit organization which mobilizes volunteers within the community to build affordable housing. The organization utilizes the community partners and 30,000 volunteers to promote homeownership as a reality for the hard working, low-income families in the Lower Mainland.

Ames Tile & Stone continues to make a conscious effort to provide positive tangible contributions to the greater community, and looks forward to the next build day coming up this summer!
